It’s that time of year again…get ready to smile, laugh and play at the Interior Savings Fat Cat Children’s Festival. Featuring a Mad Hatter theme, you won’t want to miss this year’s 20th anniversary celebration!

Friday, June 11th is School Day and Saturday, June 12th is Community Day.

Be there for the sights, sounds and excitement of the parade, starting at 10am on Saturday, June 12. Beginning at the corner of Richter and Bernard, the parade will wind its way to Water Street and then head up to Waterfront Park.

A full schedule of performances and activities may be found on The Fat Cat Children’s Festival website. Simply click on the link in the left-hand column on the home page and you’ll be set to plan your day.

Here are a couple performers that caught our eye:

James Johnson – Juggler, Stiltwalker & Unicyclist:

James Johnson is a hilarious Comic Crazy Man! You can see him dazzle audiences while performing his interactive magic tricks, juggling dangerous objects such as knives and torches, riding a five foot unicycle, a bike that fits into a suitcase, escaping a regulation strait jacket among other death defying escapes and even stilt walking! James Johnson has spent many years enjoying what he does best – making people laugh.

Will Stroet:

As a bilingual children’s performer and educator from Vancouver, Will Stroet knows how to make kids laugh, dance and sing. From blues to rock to pop-inspired tunes about animals, the environment, active living and sportsmanship, Will’s high-energy and interactive music in English and French appeals to boys and girls of all ages.  Drawing inspiration from his students, Will transforms their real-life and imaginary experiences into amusing and memorable songs with an educational twist.

When you consider all the stage acts, roaming performers, workshops and more than 40 interactive activity stations, your only concern will be trying to find enough time to experience it all!
