There’s a new arrival in town… After months of listening, pages of note taking and hours sourcing unique mom and baby products, Natural Belly and Baby is here! Formerly known as The Natural Baby Shop, owner Angie Bricker has expanded her product lines to include much more for the expecting mom.
Angie has brought in some fabulous maternity wear items that transition into the “fourth trimester” after baby is born. If it’s comfortable and pretty with simple lines, you’ll find it at Natural Belly and Baby. Take note: no billowy tent-like maternity get-ups that are shudder-worthy.
The shop is also expanding its cloth diaper offerings. Angie has been stocking cloth diapers in her shops since 1996, so she is no newcomer on this scene, but she has seen an evolution that she says is truly inspirational. For so many years, it was a minority of her customers that were using cloth diapers; now it is the majority of them.
Add organic and natural skin care and cosmetics, well-fitting nursing bras to suit any body, plus so much more. Furthermore, Natural Belly and Baby will continue to find as many local products as possible to stock. Angie notes that every week more and more local artisans and crafters introduce their products to her. She is becoming well-known for her open door policy for local and hand-made items. Local brands include Bellaz Bowz, Bamboo Knitted Hats, Today I Ate A Rainbow Charts, Lalabee Bathworks, Bealoo Art for Kids and Earth Lab Cosmetics. There’s tons to check out at the all-new Natural Belly and Baby.
If that’s not enough, Angie is keeping in touch with the local midwives and health nurses to be sure that the shop is offering the most recommended items for a healthy pregnancy and birth. She also plans to offer workshops in the store in the fall featuring experts from many fields of keen interest to new parents.
Never a person to resist growth opportunites for long, Angie is certainly not afraid of changing her stride. Her recent move to the beautiful shopping district known as the Cultural District of Kelowna was a “leap of faith” in many ways, venturing away from the shopping mecca further up Highway 97. So far, it is proving to be a great move as her clients find her, both new and already fans! If you haven’t, take a swing on by and check out the new shop!
